Pray for Seminarian Paul-Michael Piega’s father, Carlos Piega

I would like you to please keep our Seminarian, Paul-Michael Piega’s father, Carlos Piega, in your thoughts and prayers. Carlos just had a quadruple bypass this Tuesday morning and has been in the hospital for the past two weeks. He is recovering in the ICU at Baylor Medical Center in Dallas.

Holy Thursday

Keep awake – pray with Me

Hello Brother Knights and Sir Knights –

The symbolism of our Lord’s last minutes as he awaited his fulfillment of the prophesy to save us – is this Holy Thursday. Won’t you be here with our Lord – staying awake and praying to and for him?

Mass begins at 6:00pm with the procession to Zurek Hall immediately following – The Lord will be present in our Blessed Sacrament – there waiting for you… Please come and see Him.

4th Degree Sir Knights should be there in Full Regalia for a shift to be with our Lord.

1st through 3rd Degree should at least be there in our Lord’s final hour from 11:00pm to Midnight. However, you can stay as long or little as you wish – just come pray…

Won’t you be there for Him? Let’s have a good turnout – let’s show Him we love Him – and we are there – and not asleep – but awake!

I hope to see you there – Zurek Hall – at the very least, try to come in His final hour… 11pm

Love and blessings to all,
-john romero

Mark – Chapter 14:
Then they came to a place named Gethsemane, and he said to his disciples, “Sit here while I pray.”

33

He took with him Peter, James, and John, and began to be troubled and distressed.

34

Then he said to them, “My soul is sorrowful even to death. Remain here and keep watch.”

35

He advanced a little and fell to the ground and prayed that if it were possible the hour might pass by him;

36

he said, “Abba, Father, 12 all things are possible to you. Take this cup away from me, but not what I will but what you will.”

37

When he returned he found them asleep. He said to Peter, “Simon, are you asleep? Could you not keep watch for one hour?

38

13 Watch and pray that you may not undergo the test. The spirit is willing but the flesh is weak.”

39

Withdrawing again, he prayed, saying the same thing.

40

Then he returned once more and found them asleep, for they could not keep their eyes open and did not know what to answer him.

41

He returned a third time and said to them, “Are you still sleeping and taking your rest? It is enough. The hour has come. Behold, the Son of Man is to be handed over to sinners.

2013 Lenten Meals Start this Friday!

Brothers, I just wanted to remind you that we will be starting our Lenten meals this Friday!  If you can arrive early to help we will be setting up around 5 PM. Food will be ready by 6:30 PM.

If you can’t come early to help set up please invite and bring your family, friends and neighbors to enjoy an excellent catfish meal!  We will also have pizza for kids meals if they don’t want fish.

Our catfish is catered and the food is as good as anything you will get at a restaurant so there is no reason not to come out and enjoy a good meal with your brother knights. So let’s pick up the volume and sell out every meal!

We will be taking credit cards at the PAC if you prefer to pay that way. If you want to prepay for your meal by credit card,  you can do so here:

(DELETED)

I look forward to seeing all of you tomorrow night!  Fraternally,

Paul Marvin, FS.

Marriage Liturgy is coming up on February 8th

Brother Knights,

WP_20130120_001The Saint Thomas Aquinas Women’s Guild has requested assistance from the Knights. Marriage Liturgy is coming up on February 8th (ticket sells began this past weekend), and they are in need of 6-8 Knights to assist in setting up tables and chairs in the PAC on Thursday, February 7th (start at 6:00pm), and then take them down after the event is over on Friday night.

This event is a STA Women’s Guild activity that we Co-Sponsor every year and is a great opportunity to support the STA Women’s Guild and Council 3205.
This is a great event and a lot of fun. Consider it an opportunity for a pre-valentine “date night” whereby you and your lovely spouse can get a fabulous dinner, great dancing and a wonderful opportunty to visit with other couples in our Parish. The price for each couple is $40, and for each couple that has an anniversary (that is a multiple of 5) they will get a certificate recognizing that accomplishment. Since we are co-sponsing this event, we need to support this activity by buying a ticket!

“It is always a lot of fun and the meal is always excellent. Dancing after dinner is always a big hit!”

Please let me know at nicagus@gmail.com or 979 229-8902 if you are able to assist…the more volunteers we have, the better!

Thanks in advance,

Gustavo Roman Sr.
